As the local member for Yerrabi, I have a keen interest in ensuring the Giralang community knows what’s happening with the Giralang Shops site and has the opportunity to provide their feedback on any development proposal.

It is the responsibility of the developer to submit a new development application and initiate consultation with the community on any proposal.

On a number of occasions I have strongly encouraged the developer to begin his development application and openly discuss his plans with the community.

The developer has confirmed he will be hosting a community forum on 5 December 2017 to discuss his plans for the site and answer questions from local residents.

I am pleased to see the developer is taking serious steps to finally talk with the community and I encourage residents of Giralang to attend the meeting.
