Media Release: Brick Expo donates $50,000 to Centenary Hospital

12 July 2019

Today Suzanne Orr MLA accepted a cheque for $50,000 from the Brick Expo Committee on behalf of the ACT Minister for Health.

Brick Expo—celebrating its 10th anniversary—is an exciting Canberra-based LEGO® exhibition that brings together LEGO fans and collectors from all over Australia.

This popular family-friendly event has proudly supported paediatrics at Canberra Hospital since 2010, raising close to $400 000 and donating LEGO for paediatric patients.

“Brick Expo is an iconic and much anticipated event in Canberra each year and is thoroughly enjoyed by people of all ages. I would like to thank the organising committee and volunteers who contribute their time to this community event,” Suzanne Orr MLA said.

“Brick Expo’s donation will contribute toward funding a specialised paediatric cardiac ultrasound machine.

“This will be used at the paediatric cardiology out-patient service where children are treated for a variety of conditions including complex congenital heart disease, simple cardiac conditions and flow murmurs.”

Brick Expo features an amazing range of exhibits made completely from LEGO bricks. Visitors can expect trains, amazing architecture, LEGO art works, a great ball contraption and creative scenes in many different colours and themes.

Tickets are now on sale for this years Brick Expo, which will be held this year on 10 and 11 August at the Hellenic Club, Woden. Funds raised will support children at the Centenary Hospital for Women and Children.
